Crin d'Afrique

Crin d'Afrique

Crin d'Afrique / Palmfibres

Crin d'Afrique is a natural filling. In antique upholstery and when the seat should be high arched, Crin is almost always used. The material looks like dried grass, but comes from the African dwarfpalmtree. The leaves of this plant are cut and curled. That gives the material elasticity, what is maintained for a long time in a dried form. Crin can wet not well tolerated. You can reuse Crin, but when it breaks it must be replaced.

As an indication; for a dining room chair is about 500-1000 grams needed.
