Winged Retainer Strip, pulling strip

These are used to secure the fabric with a "pleat" in a piece of furniture or pillow without placing buttons.

The tilting strip consists of a strip of non-woven fabric of 9 cm with a hard plastic strip on it. You sew the non-woven strip on the fabric and when fabricating, push the hard strip through the foam and tilt it at the back / underside of the foam and the fabric is tight attached.

For the effect as shown at the picture, the non-woven fabric from the stitching to the plastic tilt strip should be about 2 cm shorter than the thickness of the foam. If you want a deeper pleat, you make the strip a bit narrower.
You can cut the strip easy to the wished size. If the non-woven fabric is too narrow, you can easily sew an extra strip of non-woven fabric (or another sturdy non-stretchable fabric.) till the lenght you need.
